Cookie Sheet Apple Pie
Crust:
2 1/2 cups flour 1 Tble. sugar
1 tsp. salt 1 cup shortening
Other:
2 eggs 8-12 apples
1 cup cornflakes Milk
1 cup sugar 1 tsp.cinnamon
Glaze:
3 tbles. powered sugar 2 tbles. of milk
Mix like pie crust and add 2 egg yolks with enough milk to make 2/3 cup. Roll out half the dough to cover cookie sheet. Spread 1 cup of cornflakes over crust. Pare and slice fine 8-12 apples. Mix apples with 1 cup sugar, 1 tsp. cinnamon and mix well. Put the apples evenly on the bottom crust and cover with the balance of dough which was rolled out to fit. Beat egg whites stiff and spread on top of pie. Bake for 1 hour in 400 degree oven. (That maybe too hot so check earlier.) Mix 3 tbles. powered sugar and 2 tbles. of milk and spread glaze over pie while hot.
