I made the lasagna

Today, I made the lasagna recipe that Mom posted here. I just wanted to let you all know how it turned out and share my experience. Just to spare you the suspense, it turned out really good. Pretty much how I remember it.

The first thing to note is that it is important to call Mom with any questions that you have about lasagna. She has the answers.

Here are some other notes:
  • After talking to mom, she told me that she normally does two layers but that I could do three. Keep in mind that the recipe is basically for two layers, so you will have to make extra stuff if you want to do another layer. I didn't think of that. It turned out okay but, just keep that in mind.
  • When I was hunting in the store for a packet of spaghetti sauce spices, I decided to just buy a jar of spaghetti sauce. It worked fine. I used 5 cups which would have been plenty for two layers but wasn't quite enough for three.
  • Get at least 2 pouches of mozzarella cheese. One isn't enough.
  • After cooking, wait longer than 8 minutes to let it set. A 15 minute wait probably would have been enough to make the first pieces stay together.
The actual dish turned out great. I approve. Plus we now have leftover lasagna in the fridge.
